Compatibility charts?
I'm almost embarrassed to write you this but to be honest I figured what do I have to lose? I came across your site a few years ago after a bad break up. By the way I love all the changes. You've done a great job but anyway that isn't the reason I am writing. I haven't dated since that last bad breakup and a good friend at work is insistent on setting me up with this guy she claims is 100% guaranteed perfect for me in every way, which also happens to be her cousin.

He does sound great and by the pictures she showed me of the guy he looks great too but as you can imagine I'm just a little bit hesitant. I know that I need to get back out there but I'm still nervous. Another friend jokingly suggested I use one of those on-line compatibility quizzes to see if we really are all that compatible but I don't even know where or how to start then I see you added some stuff like that to your site and I knew I had to write and ask you about it. Any suggestions for me? At this point I'm really willing to try anything to calm my nerves. Am I crazy for doing this?

Let me start by saying no you are not crazy. It's perfectly natural to be nervous about going out on a date of any kind after a bad breakup and especially a blind date. I'm sure he's just as nervous as you are. As hard as it may be, you must relax. What will be, will be. If it works out, great and if it doesn't, that's ok too because there are 10 zillion more guys out there to pick from.

As for your friend's suggestion of a compatibility profile, there are so good and bad points to that. On the negative side, it's not easy finding reliable places to get real readings like that from and if you do happen to find a place that does offer real ones, they typically cost money. I know you can get them at places like Pyschic Realm but again those cost money. Even if it's only $2.95, it's still money. I've yet to ever find a legitimate free service. I thought many times about offering such a service here at Men Suck.com, as I have a friend that does them but never really got around to it. :P

Anyway, back to you and your question. Should you do it? That's really up to you but yes they can provide you with some valuable information about your date. I see it like preparing for a job interview. You would research all you could about a potential new employer wouldn't you? So why not a date? I'm sure you've already asked his cousin a few questions about him so why not go ahead and ask his birthday too as that is what you will need to know to have a compatibility reading done.

Compatibility readings compare your birth sign with his and most services use the western (or Americanized) version of the zodiac. ie: Virgo, Leo, Aries, Gemini, etc. Certain signs tend to be more compatible with other signs. I am a Virgo and the astrology charts seem to think I am most compatible with a Cancer, Scorpio, Capricorn and Taurus. That is just the general version of it though. Real compatibility readings go into more detail explaining your personality and theirs and what ways you are and are not compatible. But what's important here is they also go into details about his personality and the more you can get to know about the guy before you even meet him, perhaps the more comfortable you will be on your date with him!

Earlier I mentioned how most services use the western zodiac. There is also the eastern or Chinese version. ie: Year of the Rat, Dragon, The Tao, Yin and Yang, etc. I have a friend who is into this and it's amazing how real some of it seems. I was very impressed and if you do get a chance, try getting a full personality profile on him based on this method. All you will need his is date of birth for this type of reading as well. It's very fascinating what it will reveal about a person.

I hope all of this information was helpful to you and do let me know how your reading and your date goes.
