The Passion of The Christ focusses on the last twelve hours of Jesus of Nazareth's life. I am not big into religon but I am an avid fan of history and for this reason alone I wanted to watch it. I know the popular story of his death has already been disproven by historians time and again but only by little details. But that's just really picking at hairs. Mel Gibson spent an enormous amount of movie making this blockbuster. Apparently the studios didn't have as much faith in his pet project as he did and boy I bet they were kicking themselves when it turned out to be as huge as it did. The Passion of The Christ is really a story we all know but Mel Gibson tells it in a way you will soon not forget. It is so horribly graphic, I would not suggest this film for any child or anyone with a weak stomach. I was really shocked at how far they went at times in the movie. Just to be clear, this movie is extremly violent with lots of blood and gore. It was very painful to watch about half of this movie.

It's hard to write this review because it's unlike other movies. Was there a story line that was remotely interesting? Yes. But a lot of what is a good story is lost with so much violence and gore. They went to far to many times and much of the story was lost with the shock value. In the end it's one of those movies you have to see at least once so if nothing else you can say you've seen it as no doubt it will come up in conversation at some time in your life.

I give the Passion of The Christ a 4 out of 10. It lost points for being so horribly graphic when it didn't really need to go that far but gained points for being a great gift idea. :P Click here to view more details on The Passion of Christ
